My, how we have grown: Over 500 posts in (as of this one), this blog has finished the first volumes of Captain America and Avengers, survived the “Heroes Reborn” period (and the second volumes of both titles), and started in on volume 3.
I’ve split the list of indices below into two parts, the currently active pages and the completed ones.
Current runs:
- Captain America volume 3: 1998-2002 (#1-50 and Annuals)
- Avengers volume 3: 1998-2005 (most of #1-84, 500-503, Finale, and Annuals)
- Miscellaneous comics: 1997-present
- Invaders (all volumes)
- Other Captain America ongoing or limited series
Completed runs:
- Captain America volume 1: 1964-1996 (Tales of Suspense #58-99, Captain America #100-454, and Annuals)
- Avengers volume 1: 1964-1996 (most of Avengers #4-402 and Annuals)
- Miscellaneous comics: 1964-1996
- “Heroes Reborn” era: 1996-1997 (volume 2 of Captain America, Avengers, etc.)
I still plan on adding a truly chronological index (eventually).
This exercise reminds me of these great panels from the first page of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 (February 2015) by Mark Waid and Carlos Pacheco, showing fellow “Ohio urchin,” li’l Phil Coulson, enjoying his comics and heroes as only hyperorganized fans like he, Waid, and I would do.

Yes, I had a card catalog system for my comics, with separate files by issue, story, and date, plus a massive three-ring binder with pages for every hero and each comic I owned in which they appeared. (All lost to the ravages of time, unfortunately.)
