All-New, All-Same “The Virtues of Captain America Blog” is back!

It’s been a long time—a bit longer than I hoped—but I’m pleased to announce that this blog is starting up again tomorrow with Captain America #425 from March 1994.

I finished the second edition of my book last week, and it was much more work than I imagined. In addition to refining the text throughout, rearranging some content, and adding new examples when appropriate, I wrote several long sections on the recent “Secret Empire” episode and Sam Wilson’s time so far as Captain America. (I’ll have more to say, here or elsewhere, as the book approaches release next year.)

As for this blog, going forward I am not committing to two new posts each week, which I maintained for the first 4½ years before the break. I’m really feeling the burdens of the day job and other writing projects right now, so I will be posting when I can, hoping for one new post a week, but I can’t promise this every week.

I missed doing this, especially while rereading the last ten years of Captain America’s comics, and I’m glad to be back. I hope you enjoy what’s coming!
